Redell Maxine Jones passed away in Oklahoma City on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the age of 84 years.

Redell was the daughter of Lee Moore Sr. & Adeline (Washington) Moore, born on December 1, 1936 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.

She was brought up and attended schools in Sasakwa and also attended Lincoln School in Holdenville. She graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1954.

She was married to Caldwell Jackson until his passing in 1973. She lived in Lima, where she worked more than thirty years for Bluebell/Wrangler.

She was later married to Willie Jones, who passed away in 2007. She made her home for the past thirty years in Oklahoma City.

In her younger days, Redell was a rodeo barrel racer.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Holdenville, and later was a member of Scipio Baptist Church of New Lima. After moving to Oklahoma City, she attended Greater New Zion Baptist Church until her health failed. Redell was also a certified teacher at the National Baptist Convention. She was instrumental in the integration of New Lima Public Schools and Holdenville’s public swimming pool. She enjoyed raising vegetable gardens and flower gardens. She loved international travel and had visited places all around the world, including Europe, Israel, the Bahamas, and all across the U.S.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee & Adeline Moore; two husbands, Caldwell Jackson and Willie Jones; daughter Vanessa Jackson and stepson Cecil Jackson; five brothers: Fred Thomas, Charley Moore, James Moore, Mack Moore, and Lee Moore Jr.; three sisters: Lula Mae Moore, Dora Garfield, and Juanita Johnson.

She is survived by three children: Debra Smith of Holdenville, Caldwell Jackson Jr. of New Lima, and Juanita Thomas of Edmond, stepson James “Busta” Everett Jackson of New Lima, her two grandchildren that she raised Carl L. Jackson of San Antonio, Texas and LaKeya Phillips of Oklahoma City; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and fourteen great great-grandchildren; one sister, Roxie Boyd of Holdenville and one brother, Napoleon Moore of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Greater New Zion Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and Redell will be laid to rest at Thomas Town Cemetery at Sasakwa at 3:30 pm. Rev. Kenneth Sherrill is the officiating minister.

Viewing will be held at the funeral home Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 11:00am to 5:00pm and on Friday July 23, 2012 from 10:00am until 8:00pm.
