Former Seminole resident, Percy Dean Harjo, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023 in Paris, Texas at the age of 69 years.

Percy, the son of Samsochee and Imogene (Little) Harjo, was born December 5, 1953, in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He graduated from Strother High School. Percy proudly served in the US Air Force. He was a supervisor in construction. On June 19, 1978, Percy married Julia Ann Moss at Hitchitee Church in Seminole. He was a fan of OU football and basketball, the Denver Bronchos, cooking and grilling and doing carpentry, and he loved playing basketball.

Percy loved the Lord and his native hymns, he also enjoyed spending time with his brother, Osceola Little. You never saw one without the other. He also loved spending time with his auntys, Juanita Wise and Bessie Spencer and all of his family. He loved being with his family, his cousins, Steve Harjo and Rowena Gonzalez, but nothing held the same place in his heart as his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samsochee and Imogene Little Harjo; five sisters, Flora Daniels, Mary Alice Jackson, Lula Kay Harjo, Sandra Renee Larney, and Channon Harjo; brothers, John Moss and Rozelle Morgan; a niece, Donnell Carter and nephews, Isaiah Harjo, Eric Harjo, Cody Harjo, Abraham Jackson Jr., Darren Strayhorn, and Johnny Moss.

Percy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Julia, of the home; sons, Samsochee Harjo and Jacob Noah Harjo, and Joseph Morgan; daughters, Jolene Harjo, Terri Leigh Harjo, Lindsey Habrock, Jean Ann Miller, Marilyn Chino and Loretta Bigrope; 24 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Bruce Harjo and Nathan Harjo and his cousin who was like a brother, Osceola Little, and brother-in-law, James Moss; sisters, Mildren Harjo, Delois Harjo, Samantha English, and Theresa Wise; his motherin- law, Anita Moss; along with many other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Samsochee Harjo, Jacob Harjo, Dean Harjo, Royce Habrock, Osceola Little Jr., and Mitchell Little. Honorary pallbearers will be Osceola Little, Bruce Harjo, Nathan Harjo, Ian Harjo, and Abe Jackson.

A wake service will be Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Hitchitee Church in Little.

Services will be Friday, September 1, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Hitchitee Church. Interment will follow at Hitchitee Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
