Opal Vivian Tiger Paschal Cloud, 88, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Wednesday, June 21,2023 at the South-Central Kansas Regional Medical Center. Opal was born in Seminole Oklahoma on October 24,1934 to parents, Edmond Tiger and Lucy McGrit Tiger, both deceased. She was from a family of twelve. Those who preceded her in death were her husband, Holland “King” Cloud; daughter, Veronica Lynn Simons; brothers, Roland Tiger, Marland Tiger, Donald Tiger; sisters, Gloria Jean Davis, Eva Von Towery, Nema Alderman, twins Loretta and Rosetta Tiger, and an infant sister, and six grandkids.

Opal attended Dwight Mission School until the 7th grade, then attended and played basketball, and graduated from Chilloco Indian Boarding School. After graduation, she traveled to California and met William Edward Paschal Jr, in 1952. They were married in Yuma, Arizona and traveled the USA living in several states before settling in Meraux, Louisiana.

Opal worked at the St. Bernard Hospital until she started managing a Waffle House, where she befriended her lifelong friend, Clotilde “ Cookie” Sheehan. In 1970 she moved back to Seminole, Oklahoma where she met and married Holland “ King “ Cloud in 1971. They moved to Arkansas City, Kansas. Through the years, she was manager of the Kitchens at Chilloco Indian Boarding School, Country Club, Cowley County College, and Grouse Creek. In 1978 Opal went to OU and Tonkawa University for a counseling degree and worked for Narconon Drug Rehab where she was the counselor for the boy’s dorm until she retired in 1992.

She loved the Lord and prayed for her kids and grandkids daily. She also enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing, playing pitch, dominos and Mensa Sudoku puzzles, while listening to gospel, and country music. She was also an avid OU and Chiefs fan.

Opal is survived by her children, Kathy Lorraine Paschal and James S Delis of New York, Robert William “ Buddy “ Paschal and Rita Bruce of Seminole, Oklahoma, Betty Ann Morse and Randy Morse of Arkansas City, Kansas, Tammy Lynn Jones and Mark Everett Jones of Seminole Oklahoma, Norma Jean Paschal Cloud of Arkansas City, Kansas, Micheal Edward Paschal of Arkansas City, Kansas, James Dewayne Cloud of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister, Wanda Barber of Maud Oklahoma; brothers, Pembrook Tiger of Seminole, and Randal Tiger of Shawnee Oklahoma; half siblings, Earnistine Tanyan of Shawnee Oklahoma, Christine Tiger of Shinnecock, New York and Earnest Tanyan of Oklahoma City.

Opal was the grandmother and great grandmother to 90 grandkids, and greats, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Culva D Jones, Lvmhe Jones, Uriah Paschal, Akelah Frazee, Quinton Shouse and Steven Alderman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Jones, James Delis, Randy Morse, Ray Poole.

Opal will be at the family home after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. She will go to Snake Creek #2 Church at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023. A wake will be held at the church that evening.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Snake Creek #2 with Rev. Bill Hobia Jr. and Rev. Kevin Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Tiger Family Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
