Oletha Mae Blackshire was born to Sadie and Joe Blackshire on September 10, 1939 in Wetumka, OK.

She was the second oldest child of 15 children, Oletha accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at Wisner Chapel. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Wetumka, OK under Rev. W.E. Watts, later on under the leadership of Pastor B.G. Renfro. She was a faithful servant. She taught sunday school and she also served as the church clerk.

Oletha was a graduate of Douglas High School in Wewoka, OK. After high school she married Melvin Bruner to this union 6 children were born. Oletha was employed at Loretta’s Nursing Home in Wetumka, OK at a young age. She continued her career as a daycare teacher. She was a wonderful caretaker. She also retired from Oakridge Nursing of Wewoka, OK.

Her favorite hobbies were to wash her car, read newspapers, and mess around the yard.

She is preceded in death by her mother Sadie Blackshire, father Joe Blackshire, siblings; Diane, James (preacher), Armen Jean, and Jimmy.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her children, Ray, Lynette (Samson), Otis (Tammy), Vivian, Mikie, and Fredrick, siblings, Bennie Joe (Selma), Argie (Nancy), Mary(George), Rafe, Bobby (Liz), Clemmie (Mary), AC, Ronnie (Deborah), Donnie (Sable), and Jack, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 15, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Wewoka, OK with Pastor Orlando Black officiating. Interment to follow at North Fork Cemetery in Clearview, OK.
