Noble “Dean” Palmer, age 85 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Heritage Skilled Nursing Home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Vamoosa Baptist Church, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Tommy Tomlinson will officiate, and casket bearers are Mason Bivins, Bryce Bivins, Chance Klupenger, and Miles Klupenger.

Dean was born May 19, 1937 in Linden, Texas to Noble Palmer and James Evan “Surratt” Palmer. He attended school in Linden, Texas. Dean proudly served in the U.S. Army from November 1955 until November 1957. He married Margaret Lou “Peggy” Kellett on May 2, 1966 in Merrill, Oregon.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Palmer of the home; two sons, Richard Klupenger and wife, Tima of Slaughterville, Oklahoma, and Charles Palmer of Konawa; and one daughter, Annisa Palmer of Konawa; nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble and James Palmer; one daughter, Peggy Dean Palmer; one brother, Melton Palmer; and three sisters, Martha Weston, Elloise Weddle, and Marice Routen.
