Noah Jefferson “Jay” Phillips III

Phillips Seminole resident, Noah Jefferson “Jay” Phillips III, 82, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his home.

Jay, the son of Noah and Isla Mae (Hennington) Phillips, was born December 22, 1942, in Seminole. He attended Pleasant Grove Schools and graduated with the class of 1961. Jay later attended the GM Training Center, where completed additional education. On August 17, 1994, he married Laurie Thurmond, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Jay was an oil producer, and he was also in management of a farm machine dealership. He loved riding motorcycles with his grandkids. He also enjoyed being on his boat and his bobcat, and traveling with his family, and Jay loved his dogs and cats.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isla Mae and Noah Phillips Jr; a son, Jay Carl Phillips, of Holdenville; a daughter, Debbie Causey, of Seminole; and a sister-in-law Collen Cade, of Ft. Worth, TX.

Jay is survived by his wife, Laurie, Phillips, of the home; sons and daughterin- law, Kerry Causey and Lynn, of Seminole, and Kevin Causey, of Norman; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie King and Donny, of Bixby, and Deanna “DeeDee” Morrison and Jerry, of Tecumseh; 14 grandchildren, Matthew Causey, and spouse Estephani, of Seminole, MacKenzie Barrett, and spouse Micah, of Seminole, Cody Causey, of Seminole, Jordan Kerr, and spouse Bobby Hasbell Jr., of Seminole, Jay Randal Pierce and spouse Taylor Casteel, of Shawnee, Cadem Laurel Pierce, of Seminole, Josh Causey, of Seminole, Nick Causey, of Moore, Jerry Ray Morrison, of Moore, Ryan Morrison and spouse, Tori, of Maud, Darah Chatel and spouse, Matt, of Edmond, Austin King and spouse Courtney, of Overland Park Kansas, Joe Fletcher, of Shawnee, and Garrett Stuteville and spouse, Taylor, of Seminole; 15 great grandchildren, Estella Causey, Azalea Causey, Johnny Fett “Boba” Causey, Juniper “Isie” Causey, Malachi Barrett, Mordecai Barrett, Mackenna Barrett, Tre Hasbell, Treyson Kerr, Tripp Hasbell, Marlow Chatel, Lyla Morrison, Myles Morrison, Mathias Stuteville, and Braden Fletcher; along with many other family members and friends.

Viewing will be Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., and Thursday from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Jay’s family will greet friends and family from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Interment will be Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole. A celebration of Jay’s life will follow at 11:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, OK. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
