Melford D. “Sonny” Price, Jr., age 69, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at his home in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was born September 30, 1950 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Melford Price, Sr. and Ella Mae (Scott) Jackson.

He was a graduate of Butner High School and a member of the Creek Nation of Oklahoma.

He served his country in the United States Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge and a National Defense Service Medal.

Sonny is survived by sons; Mitch and his wife Shyla and Chris and his wife Kim, all of Cromwell, Oklahoma and daughters; Carrie and her husband Edison of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, Sonnie and Kayla of Waxahachie, Texas, his significant other; Debbie Bristow of the home, brother; Dale Jackson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, stepsons; Dylan of the home and Dustin and Hannah of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, stepdaughter; Linda of the home, 10 granddaughters, 8 grandsons, 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Gene, Saber and Andrew Jackson and sisters; Carolyn Walker and ElWanda Halloway.

Wake services will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel and Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Greenleaf Church in Okemah, Oklahoma.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M Friday, November 1, 2019 at Greenleaf Church in Okemah with Brother Dean Walker officiating.

Burial with military honors provided by the Creek Nation Color Guard will follow in the Greenleaf Church Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
