Seminole resident Maxine Burnita Davis passed Monday, January 9, 2023 at her home, at the age of 100 years and 17 days.

Maxine, the daughter of Harold and Pauline (Morris) Curtis, was born December 23, 1922 in Bristow. Maxine married Jack Davis, May 2nd 1942. Jack shortly left for deployment in Iceland for World War II. During that time Maxine went to work as a welder in the shipyards in Richmond California. After three years she was reunited with Jack. They soon settled in Seminole where they built a family and a business, Jack E. Davis Electric. Maxine and Jack spent 64 years together, prior to his passing September 9, 2006. Maxine enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, sewing and cooking. She was also known in her late 90’s, to facetime her family and friends on her tablet.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Pauline Curtis; her husband, Jack Davis; her son, Rick Davis; a granddaughter, Nicole Daniel; and her sister, Dorothy McGehee.

Maxine is survived by her daughter and son-inlaw, Pam and Gene Smith; daughter-in-law, Sherry Davis; four grandchildren, Brock Daniel, Randy Sigle, Zack Davis, and Angela Coker; six great grandchildren, Jaxson Davis, Colton Davis, Lexee Coker, Skylar Davis, Zaidee Daniel, and Jaxee Coker; and many other loving family members.

Services will be Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Congregational Methodist Church in Seminole, with Danny Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
