Marvin James Bots-ford, 83, longtime

Seminole resident, passed away,

Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Marvin was born July 2, 1936 in Otto, New York to Ralph James Bots-ford and Alice Eugenia (Maus) Botsford.

Marvin served in United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958 as a radio mechanic and attained the rank of A1C. After his time in the service, he pursued a degree in economics which he received from Georgia University. Marvin was a self-employed roofer and carpenter. Marvin loved classic cars and going to car shows. He was a dedicated member of the Immanuel Fellowship Church in Seminole, Oklahoma, which he dearly loved. He loved his children and grandchildren.

Marvin was married to Alix Botsford on July 6, 1957 in Kenmore, New York and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2017.

Marvin is survived by one son, Mark Botsford of Seminole, Oklahoma, one daughter, Kim Chaffin and her husband Randy of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, one brother, Robert Bots-ford and his wife Fay of Cattaraugus, New York, his sister, Jeanette Firth of California, three grandchildren, Adam, Kassi and her husband Eric and Tori, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members. Marvin will also be missed by his many friends he’d hangout with at Carl’s Jr., Walmart, McDonald’s, Richards Quick Stop and Ace Hardware.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; Ralph and Alice Botsford, his wife, Alix Botsford, his son, Hal Botsford, and his sisters, Mae Elenor and Marilyn.

A Celebration of Marvin’s Life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at the Immanuel Fellowship Church at 3103 Highway 3 North in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Pastor Tim Tate officiating.

Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma is in charge of memorial services.
