Marilyn Anne Broyles-Prater, 82, entered eternal life with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 14, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Little Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Carl Whitfield officiating.

Anne was born April 12, 1938 in her paternal farm home in Pleasant Valley Community, Lamb County, Texas. At age 12, Anne made her profession of faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior at summer church camp, Floydada, then joined the Lazbuddie Baptist Church.

She was educated in the Muleshoe Public Schools. After graduation she worked at Muleshoe State Bank before marrying Gerald Boyd Prater on May 13, 1961 in Muleshoe. Gerald farmed with his father and brother for a number of years. Then Gerald and Anne moved their young family to Seminole, Oklahoma in 1982. There Anne pursued the life she loved of gardening, canning, fishing, antique shopping and making an attractive, comfortable home for her family. In August 1988, tragedy struck their family when son Wade was injured in a bridge construction job and became a quadriplegic. Anne and Gerald then dedicated their lives to the total loving care of Wade.

Anne is survived by her husband, Gerald; son, Wade; daughter, Marla D’Ann Prater-Hobia; son-in-law, Paul Hobia and two grandsons, Trevor and Zachary Hobia all of Seminole, Oklahoma. She especially enjoyed time spent with her remaining sisters: Pat (Phil) White of Amarillo, Texas; Anita Merrill of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Sondra (Clifford) Hugg of Soldotna, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Edgar Broyles and Verda Branscum-Broyles; brothers, J.C., Ralph and Bobby and sister, Lavonne McKillip.
