“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith.”

Manuel Rivas II departed this life on November 13, 2021 at the age of 82. Manuel was a United States Army Veteran, he then became a truck driver, and then he worked at the nursing home in Prague, Oklahoma for 10 years before retiring. He loved coaching little league sports and he loved staying active by running in marathons. Manuel was a husband, a father, a brother, a grandfather, a lover of animals, and a friend to so many.

Manuel met his wife Norma when he was 17 and she was 14. They were together from that day on and were married for 63 years. Left to honor Manuel and remember his love are his wife Norma, his son Manuel and wife Connie Rivas of Stroud, daughter Lynnie and husband Doug Alflen of Seminole, daughter Nita and husband Jimmy Moreland of New Lima, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Ruby Rivas, his son Ricky, his brother Andrew, and his sister Vivian. Manuel had a way of knowing when someone needed a word of encouragement and he offered it without question.

He will be remembered as a light in the darkness.

Services will be 10:00 Thursday, November 18 at the Little, Oklahoma cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services – Prague Oklahoma.
