Luther Harold Anderson, Maud resident, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 in Maud, at the age of 77. Luther was born on December 18, 1946 in St. Louis, OK to Elmer and Leora (Engle) Anderson. He grew up in St. Louis, OK and spent his adult life in Maud. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Luther worked as a roughneck in the oilfield. He married Sammie Earlene Williams on July 19, 1969 in St. Louis, OK.

Luther was a 32nd degree Mason. He treasured all of the time he could get with his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He enjoyed fishing, old cars, old gospel and country music and playing any games.

Luther is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sammie Earlene Anderson; two daughters, Tammie Bietz and husband, Bill of Parkston, South Dakota and Alesha Anderson and husband, Charlie of Seminole; sister, Sharon Spicer and husband, Walt of Macomb, OK; four grandchildren, Blake Bietz of Souix Falls, SD, Luke Bietz and wife, Kenzie of Lincoln, NE, Rhett Anderson of Seminole, OK and Lexi Davis and husband, Kash of Seminole, OK; one great grandchild, Rhettlynn Anderson of Seminole, OK and many other family and friends.

Luther was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Anderson; mother, Leora Carney and brothers, Raymond Anderson and Leroy Anderson.

A Celebration of Luther’s life will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Bowlegs, OK with Rev. Willie Williams officiating. Inurnment will follow at Wolf Cemetery in Wolf, OK. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
