Land West

Land Bradford West, 66, Passed away on September 14th, 2023, in Seminole Oklahoma.

Land was born on June 17th, 1957, in Farmington, NM. to Crawford and Yvonne est, and was named “Land” by this state’s moto! “The land of enchantment” as Crawford was an oilfield roughneck at that time.

Land went to Seminole high school and was a good football player with honors. Land went to the University of Oklahoma where he received a teaching degree, Land was a member of the Seminole Elks Lodge and a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, at Oklahoma University.

After college Land started Maximum Mud Service with James his brother from 1981 thur 1992. Land’s work experience was in the Drilling Fluids business in Texas, Oklahoma and Alaska. At the time of his death, he worked as a senior drilling fluids engineer.

Land was a huge OU fan and enjoyed all the football games. Land also had many hobbies; at Wewoka Lake he learned to water ski at age 2, on two skis and a Solman ski at 6 years old. He had been skiing on his father’s shoulders before that. He continued skiing and became an avid fisherman around Wewoka Lake. Eufaula lake became his favorite lake to run trout lines to catch catfish crappies when they were on the banks. He always looked forward to having fish fry’s with his friends. Land was taught to cook by his mother and grandmother who owned Pats Café in Seminole. His favorite was to BBQ with smokers.

Land was preceded in death by his uncle Joe West and Cousin Cathy West of Seminole OK.; his grandmother Marie Applewhite of Shawnee, Ok. Both of his parents, Yvonne and Crawford West of Seminole.

He is survived by his brother James West of Seminole, Ok,; Aunt Dee Massey of Norman Ok; Aunt Ann Wright and uncle Herman Wright of Midand Tx. And many cousins. Land will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at the 737 Duck Club in Seminole Ok on Wednesday, Sept 27th, 2023 from 1pm through 4pm.
