LaHoma Harjo

LaHoma Harjo, age 56, resident of Ada, Oklahoma, entered into eternal life on January 27, 2021 at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada.

LaHoma was born on November 17, 1964 in Shawnee, OK to Carlee and Pauline Harjo. LaHoma worked as an LPN since 2002 and was a long time employee at Rolling Hills Psychiatric Hospital for 14 years. She loved taking care of people and helping everyone when possible. She had an amazing work family who loved her just as much as we did. LaHoma had many hobbies outside of being a nurse. She loved to bead, sew, watch OU football (BOOMER SOONER) and she loved spending time with her family. She always said she loved her family equally but her grandchildren were the absolute light of her life. LaHoma will be greatly missed but she will be forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

She is survived by two sons, Brandon Wesley Harjo of the home and Patrick Harjo and wife Lindsey of Ada, OK; one daughter, DeAmber Garcia and husband Simon of Ada, OK; four brothers, Carl Lee Harjo of Seminole, OK, Terry Allen Harjo and Dale Robin Harjo both of Konawa, OK and David Kevin Harjo of Ada, OK; two sisters, Cecelia Julia Harjo-Howell and husband Danny of Konawa, OK and Natalie Clarice Harjo of Seminole, OK; seven grandchildren, Ashlyn, Tyce, Addy, Eli, Celi, Silas and Gabriel and a tribe of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlee and Pauline Harjo; brother, Jeffrey Harjo; nephew, Joseph “Joe” Bounds and grandparents, George Wesley Harjo and Cora Davis Harjo

Those serving as casket bearers will be Brian “Pup” Harjo, Hank Harjo, Roman “Pudd” Cosar, Simon Garcia, John Harjo, Israel “Lucky” Prieto, Wyatt Lee Wolf, HvtvlkeYahola Deere and Marcus “Worm” Sandfur.

Honorary casket bearers will be Carl Lee Harjo, Terry Allen Harjo, Dale Robin Harjo, David Kevin Harjo, Danny Howell, Willie Dean Harjo, Chris Harjo, Bear Gipson and Ron Gipson.

Viewing will be Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m. Wake service is scheduled for Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral is scheduled for Monday, February 1 at 1:00 p.m at Grace Community Church in Vamoosa, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Davis Family Cemetery in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Bill “Skip” Foster and Bo Whitekiller. Funeral services will be are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, Oklahoma.
