Joe Peeper

Joe D. Peeper, 69-year-old Seminole Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Seminole, Oklahoma.  He was born April 15, 1950 in Okemah, Oklahoma to parents Loretta Marie (Morris) Peeper and Alvin Dee Hodge.

Joe had many business ventures.  He was self-employed being the owner and operator of Peeper Cattle Ranch, Owning and operating Peeper Trucking Company.  He also owned and operated several restaurants in the surrounding area including the Maud Café formerly known as “R.C.’s Café” and CD’s Barbeque Restaurant in Wewoka, Oklahoma.

Joe loved eating at different restaurants, going to auctions, especially cattle auctions and trading horses.

Joe was of the Christian faith and had been baptized at the Letha Baptist Church.  He was later baptized into the Church of Christ.

On April 23, 2002 Joe married Colleen E. Kernal in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Joe is survived by his wife Collene E. (Kernal) Peeper of the home; by two sons, Paul Peeper and his wife Lisa of Norman, Oklahoma, Raymond Ward and his wife Stacey of Wewoka, Oklahoma; by one daughter, Melissa Leonard of Wolf, Oklahoma; by a very special cousin, Kathy Upton of Bethel Acres, Oklahoma; by three sisters, Cherry Dee “Doll” Cline of Lindsey, Oklahoma, Charlotte Ann Kenneda of Oklahoma, Sandra Gail Hodge of Oklahoma; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and by a host of other family and dear friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Loretta Peeper and Alvin Hodge, by one brother Ray Tatum and by one sister, Sharon Lee Sand who died August 2010.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pete Martin officiating the service.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole County, Oklahoma.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
