Jewell Emogene (Miller) “Jean” Tatum, a long-life resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at her home April 8, 2022 under the care of Frontier Hospice, and she was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father at the age of 93.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Vamoosa Baptist Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Bruce Sanders will officiate, and casket bearers are her sons.

Jean was born August 20, 1928 in Konawa to Lloyd Henry Miller and Chloe E. (Bowerman) Miller. She graduated from Konawa High School and married James Sherman “Junior” Tatum on July 15, 1948 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Paula J. Pettigrew of Vamoosa, Oklahoma; three sons, Jimmy D. Tatum of Konawa, Larry E. Tatum of Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska, and Aaron Tatum of Vamoosa; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Sherman “Junior” Tatum, parents, Lloyd and Chloe Miller; two brothers, Lloyd Eugene Miller and Doyle Miller; and one grandson.
