Jerry Garl Scott died at home in Shawnee on May 28th, 2022. He was born July 5th, 1933 in Seminole, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents George and Victoria Scott, Siblings Roland, Bill, Darrell, and Betty and Sons Jerry Wayne and Ricky.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rita Scott, Grandson Jerry Garl Scott, Granddaughter Elizabeth Johnson and Husband Cody, Grandson Christian Myers and Wife Megan, Step Son Lance, Step Daughter Andreanna and partner Brian, Daughter-In-Law Susan Scott Little and Husband Bryan, many Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Colleagues and Kiki, Emmy, and Phoncie his loving poodles.

Jerry started his career in the oil field at a young age in California. He then continued in the oilfield back in Oklahoma with the help of Bill Weems. He went on to start Jerry Scott Drilling in 1968 in Seminole. He was grateful throughout his career for all the people and employees that helped him along the way. A special thanks to Fred Gibson, Dale Tipken, Gray Brinsfield, and Sarah and Larry Cunningham.

He was elected as the director of Prague National Bank, now Vision Bank, in 1983 where he continued to serve as a director until retiring. Thank you to everyone at Prague National and Vision Bank.

A thank you to Loving Care Hospice for helping him rest easy in his final days at home. Jerry loved his family and enjoyed a very full life during his 88 years.

Viewing for Jerry will be from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 and 1-5p.m. on Sunday, June 5 at Swearingen Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Monday, June 6th at 1pm at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Tim Tate officiating. The family will be having a private graveside service following.

Casket bearers will be Jerry “Jay” Scott, Christian Myers, Gary Brinsfield, Cody Johnson, Brandon Montebello and Luke Wieck.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
