Jerry Lynn Jones, Seminole resident, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 75. Jerry was born on November 19, 1947, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Charles William Jones and Rosa Mae (Hawkins) Jones. He married Judy Brinsfield on August 29, 1970.

Jerry served three years in the United States Air Force, two tours in Vietnam, six years in the Air Force Reserves and seven years in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. He received a bronze star while in Vietnam.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Jones; two sons, David Jones and wife, Melissa and Dale Jones; daughter, Sherry Gates; 11 grandchildren, a special extra grandchild, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews; great great great nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother Carl Edward Jones and sisters, Wretha Deloris, Alma Louise Jones, Edna Elliott and Lucy Maesthal.

Jerry’s memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Seminole, Oklahoma with Galen Greenwald officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
