Jennie Lee (Rounsaville) Higdon, 88, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away February 2, 2020.

She was born May 20, 1931 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Cecil Rounsaville and Elizabeth (Brink) Rounsaville.

Jennie married George Kenneth Higdon on June 6, 1949 in the parsonage at the First United Methodist Church in Seminole.

George passed away on October 24, 2012 and they were married for 63 years.

Jennie was very active in her church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She worked as a clerk at the Seminole Walmart Pharmacy for several years.

She worked horse riding camps and was a Camp Fire Girls’ leader for her daughter Karan. She loved to have a good time and her grandchildren were very important to her.

Jennie is survived by her sons; Kenneth D. Higdon and Keith A. Higdon, sister; Betty L. Harrison, son-in-law; Bob Douthit, brothers-in-law; Bob Addington and Charles Padgett, grandchildren; George D. Higdon, Scott Douthit, Bobby Douthit, Deana Byrd, Bonnie Decker, Beckie Deere and Candace Higdon, sixteen grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; Cecil Rounsaville and Elizabeth M. Powell, stepfather; Wayne Powell, husband; George K. Higdon, daughter; Karan Douthit, granddaughter; Jennifer Higdon, sister; Bonnie Rounsaville and brother; Arthour Rounsaville.

Funeral services for Jennie will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Seminole with Mark Watson officiating.

Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.

Casket bearers will be Scott Douthit, Bobby Douthit, George David Higdon, Tyler Douthit, Jax on Douthit and Tim Azlin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
