Jean Dale (Sexton), age 94 and a life-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at her home.

A Rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Konawa. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 17 th at the church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Fr. Joseph Duggempudi will officiate, and burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

Jean was born September 28, 1926 in Konawa to Tom Sexton and Maud (Barnett) Sexton. She married Mike Akerman on September 18, 1946 at Sacred Heart. She was a homemaker. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who have known her. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Alter Society for many years.

She is survived by one son, Mickey Akerman of Konawa; three daughters, Donna Cooley of Konawa, Linda Carter of Byng, Oklahoma, and Bonnie Harden of Konawa; one brother, J.T. Sexton of Konawa; one sister, and Amaline Sanders of Moore, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike Akerman on April 7, 2010; three brothers, Howard, Frank and Doyle Sexton; and six sisters, Iva Branscum, Pearl Campbell, Lorene Sexton, Lavonia Sexton, Juanita Thomas, and Jewell Campbell.

The family will recieve guests from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday night at the funeral home,
