Anson James Kenneth Anson, Seminole, OK resident, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in Oklahoma City at the age of 63. James was born on July 3, 1961 in Holdenville to Woodrow Thomas Anson Jr. and Mary Beatrice (Roberts) Anson. He attended both OU and Seminole State College and graduated with his associates degree. He worked at Feed Store restaurant and was a manager at KFC He worked as a meat cutter at Save-ALot grocery in Seminole.

James is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Anson and Jamie Anson and her spouse, George Gregory Jr.; two brothers, Steven Randall Anson and Gregory Thomas Anson; sister, Geneva Tilley and many other family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Thomas Anson Jr.; mother, Mary Beatrice Anson; sister, Connie Robertson and brother, Eugene Anson.

James was a selfless and hard working man. He valued life and living it to the fullest. He treasured his family. James was also his own comedian a skill he often used to cheer up those around him. James enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing horse shoes and working on cars. He was a tremendous OU Sooner and OKC Thunder fan.

Honorary casket bearers will be Michael A. Smith, Michael Barrett, Charles Anson, Roger Williams, George Gregory Jr. and Randy Anson.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025 and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens East of Seminole. Pastor Jeff Nance will be officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
