Seminole resident Harvey Leroy Hester passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at his home, at the age of 76.

Harvey, the son of Wesley “Buck” and Evelyn (Cline) Hester, was born on July 19, 1945, in Prague, Oklahoma. He graduated with the class of 1964 from Prairie Valley High School. On September 7, 1985, he married Judy Cleveland, in Seminole. Harvey spent his life in the oil field, a journeyman electrician. He enjoyed watching western movies and going to horse races. He also enjoyed the simpler things in life, working his hayfield and being outside in the morning watching the sunrise. But there was nothing more important to Harvey than his family, particularly his grandkids.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Hester.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Luke and Erin Hester of Seminole, Shane and Erin Hester of Seminole, Kyle and Janet Hester of Kilgore, Texas, Jody Hester of Texas and Ricky Hester of Holdenville; daughter and son-in-law, Alysa and Robert Smith of Seminole; grandchildren, Braxton, Jaxson, Skyler, Darrien, Kamry, Rider, Jessica and Stephen, Emily and Greg, Brady, Kalen and Joshua, Justyss and Tyler; great grandchildren, Daxton, Weston, Cohen, Brooks, Koda and Carson; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Jeannie Newport of Choctaw, Wesley Jr. and Debbie Hester of Seminole; sister, Charlene Brookshire of Seminole; sister-in-law, Martha Hester of Seminole and many other family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Robert Smith, Charlie Yost, Don Ellis, Allen Shatswell, Michael Wells and Jason Leonard.

Viewing will be Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., at the Praise Center Assembly of God Church in Little, with Pastor Michael Tom officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
