Grace LaFlora Gaines, Maud resident, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at her home in Maud, Oklahoma.

Grace was born May 24, 1927 in Maud, Oklahoma to William Morton and Clytie Mae (Wade) Renfro.

She spent her life in Stockton, California and Maud, Oklahoma. She spent two years in Germany while her husband was stationed there. Grace married William

Grace married William E. Gaines on March 2, 1946 in Stockton, California.

She was an avid reader, watched soap operas and game shows. Grace loved visiting with her church family. When she was younger she enjoyed singing. Grace was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and treasured spending time with her friends at Project Heart for lunch.

Grace is survived by her son, Larry E. Gaines of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Doris J. Ditter of Salem, Oregon; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William E. Gaines and son, Terry L. Gaines.

Grace’s grand-nephews will serve as casket bearers.

Honorary casket bearers will be Sammy Nye, Lance Heffley and Jesse Trout.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma with Pastor Butch Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
