Geraldine Fay (Cochran) “Jeri” Stanfield, age 82 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma made her triumphal transition to heaven on July 28, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2022 at the Assembly of God Church of Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Ivan Ackerman will officiate and will be assisted by Pastor Bryan Forman. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The family will receive quests from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Jeri was born June 19, 1940 in Orange County, California to Virda Cochran and Evelyn May (Banfield) Johnson. She was affectionately known to many as “Hobby”. She received her G.E.D. and attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. She married Wendell Earl Stanfield May 13, 1960 in Santa Anna, California, and they enjoyed over sixty years of marriage. Together, they fostered more than one hundred boys through the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Jeri enjoyed horseback riding, camping, and going to garage sales. She was a devout Christian and passed her legacy of faith onto many through the years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Konawa.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell Stanfield of the home; two daughters, Sherry Snider and husband, Jerome of Konawa, and Cindy Ackerman and husband, Ivan of Oakland, Maryland; one brother, Robert “Bobby” Cochran and wife, Mary of Oregon; and one sister, Vicki Turpitt and husband, Jim of Arkansas; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, and foster children whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gary Stanfield; one brother, Roy Johnson; and one sister, Patty Carnes.
