Geraldine “Gerry” Bayer Nipper, 87, of Wewoka, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her home. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home in McAlester.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Gospel Assembly Church, McAlester, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Rompf, Brian Rompf, Tommy Rompf, David Rompf, Kenneth Sherrouse, and Ryan Rompf. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Smithee, Justin Wilkinson, James Wilkinson, Joseph Jacquot, Adrian Rompf, Aaron Taylor, and Hector Mejia.

Geraldine was born on August 10, 1933 in Laurel, Delaware to Leo Barker and Myrtle (Smith) Barker.

“Gerry” or “Gramma” to many, was a Christian woman, who loved family and church. She reached out to everyone she could, always wanting to help. If anybody needed anything, she would worry-wart herself until she found a way to fix it. She will be missed.

She is survived by three daughters: Cathy Rompf and husband, Ralph of the home, Mary Darger and husband Don of Big Sandy, Tennessee, and Deborah Sherrouse and husband, Dale of Sasakwa; her cousin, Pat Wheatley of Delaware; her grandchildren: Brian Rompf, Curtis Rompf, Ryan Rompf, Jennifer Rompf, Victoria Rompf, Nicole Lloyd, David Rompf, Thomas Rompf, Joseph Jacquot, Jennifer Jacquot, Bobbie Jo Taylor, James Wilkinson, Justin Wilkinson, Marie Mejia, Kenneth Sherrouse, Emily Sherrouse, and Noelle Sherrouse; her great-grandchildren: Janna, Kelsey, Adrian, Brianna, Elaina, Christopher, Breanna, Cierra, Aiden, Roman, Abigail, Isabella, Colton, Cashton, Laelynn, Braelyn, Casen, Hazel, Gabriela, and Luna; along with other family and friends.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her husbands: Thomas Shaw, Sr. Elton Patton, and Jimmie Nipper; her parents: Leo Barker and Myrtle (Smith) Barker; her sons: Thomas Shaw, Jr. Robert Renneker, and William Patton; and two brothers.
