George McMillan

George U. McMillan Jr., Seminole resident, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022, in Oklahoma City. George was born on March 11, 1950 in Penn Yan, New York to George F. McMillan and Eleanor (DeBolt) McMillan. George proudly served in the United States Army and was awarded a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He was very proud of his service to his country. He later retired from Miller Trucking in Stroud, OK.

George married Darlene Ann Kennerson on January 7, 1972 at Yatesville Church in Yatesville, New York. They were married for 50 years. Many treasured moments were spent sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds, squirrels and birds together. Darlene passed away on January 25, 2022.

George enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids, family and friends. He was known as “the bait man” and he enjoyed getting to know people in his bait shop.

George is survived by his son, Micheal McMillan of Seminole; daughter, Heather Suldovsky of Seminole; five sisters, Marion Baughman of Oklahoma City, Phyllis Dame of Geneva, NY, Joan Andrews of Timberlake, NY, Judy Baughman of Harrah, OK and Doris Roberts of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Tristan McMillan, Ashlynn McMillan, Micheal McMillan II and Blakely McMillan and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and many other family and friends.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George F. McMillan Sr. and Eleanor McMillan; daughter, Melody McMillan; wife of 50 years, Darlene McMillan; father-in-law, Richard Kennerson and mother-in-law, Frances Kennerson.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Mickey Shaw officiating.
