Gayla Tredway
Gayla Culleen Tredway, 59, of Maud, passed away on January 18, 2026. Born in Oklahoma City on March 28, 1966, to Wayne and Patricia Gibson, Gayla was a woman whose life was defined by her deep devotion to the people she loved.
A Lifetime of Love At just 16 years old, Gayla married William Tredway on December 22, 1982, in Shawnee. Together, they navigated 43 years of life’s journey, building a foundation of family that would eventually grow to include four children and a house full of grandchildren.
The Heart of the Family Gayla was the steady heartbeat of her home. She was at her happiest when her home was full of family and she was surrounded by those she loved most. Known for her kind spirit, infectious laugh, and big heart, she had a unique way of making sure everyone felt cared for and simply loved spending time with her “tribe,” Gayla’s warmth was unmistakable.
Her Greatest Joy While she wore many titles, “Gamgam” was her greatest joy. She leaves a legacy of love in her eleven grandchildren: Maximus, Brooke, Drake, Liam, Ethan, Sophie, Fredrick, Olivia, Dexter, Alianna, and Thea. She looked forward with great anticipation to the arrival of her first great-grandchild, a reminder that her spirit and family continue to grow.
Survivors She is survived by her devoted husband, William; her children and their spouses, William and Kodi Tredway, Fredrick and Monica Tredway, Jennifer Tredway, and Matthew and Samantha Tredway; her siblings, Cindy Porter, Teresa Porter, and Jerry Wayne Gibson; and many friends who were like family. She joins her parents, Wayne and Patricia, in eternal rest.
Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
