Seminole resident Gary Don Cantwell, 77, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at his home.

Gary, the son of Walter and Cordelia (Kinnamon) Cantwell, was born August 1, 1944 in Shawnee. On June 1, 2002, he married JoAnn Taylor, in Seminole. Gary was a diesel mechanic for Hobby Lobby. Gary was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Seminole Masonic Lodge and an India Shriner, where he was a van driver for the children to the Shriner’s Hospital; he was member of the Seminole Elks Lodge, where he was Elk of the Year in 2004; a he was a member of the Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, June Reed, Brenda Sparks, and Carma Chappel; a daughter, Gaylea Musgrove; and a grand daughter, Ricci Jack.

Gary is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Debra Cantwell of Florida, and Brian and Sarah Blassingame; daughters and son-in-law, Tia Richmond of Seminole and Stephanie and Jimmie Brewer of Maud; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one sister, Freda Satterfield; and many other family members and friends.

Viewing for Gary will begin Saturday at noon at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel Seminole, Oklahoma, with Carl Whitfield officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
