Frances “Jo” Josephine Mills, longtime Seminole resident, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023 in Shawnee at the age of 76.

Jo was born on February 11, 1947 in Seminole, OK to Francis Madge Scott (Lozier) and Benjamin Edloe Scott.

Jo graduated from Butner High School and later joined the National Guard.

Over the years Jo worked for Wrangler, the City of Seminole, Banc-First and Best Western. Jo loved working at the Hotel getting to meet and interact with all of her co-workers and the guests.

Jo loved her grandchildren and fur-grandchildren, they were the pride of her life. She loved watching them grow and supporting them in all of their accomplishments. If you spent anytime talking with her at all, she would tell you all about them and what they were up to now!

Jo is survived by her daughter, Toni Brockhaus of Shawnee, son, Terry Mills of Ohio, her three grandkids, Cait Heald and her husband Treyner of Shawnee, J.T. Brockhaus of Tulsa and Zoe Ashton Mills of Indiana, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Francis Madge Scott (Lozier) and Benjamin Edloe Scott, her brother, Benjamin “Scotty” Scott, son in law, JR Brockhaus and other relatives.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Loving Care Hospice for their wonderful love and care!

At Jo’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, she asks that friends and family who are able to make a donation to the American Lung Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of OK Cremation & Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
