Elena “Dolly” Gaines

Elena “Dolly” Gaines, 98 of Collinsville, OK passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025 in Owasso, OK.

She was born March 11, 1.627 in Wilburton, OK to Alphus M Redwine, and the former Artemissa M Graham. She lived in Collinsville for 12 years having moved from Wewoka, OK where she lived for 63 years. In Wewoka, Dolly built a home and family with her husband, Hulen Gaines, where they raised their two children. She was a master seamstress who created beautiful clothes and quilts made in prayer for those to whom she was gifting them. She was a longtime member of Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church in, Wewoka and then Wolf Free Will Baptist Church. She played the piano for church services and offered ready help tending to the needs of others. Her faith in Christ was paramount in her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Hulen Gaines; 1 great-grandson, Nathan Dulin; and 10 of her siblings.

She is survived by 2 children Michael Hulen Gaines and his wife Lana of Colorado City, TX and Susan Fain and her husband George of Collinsville; 5 grandchildren, Brittne Carson and her husband Jason, Andrea Hines and her husband Randy, Julie Dulin and her husband Jason, Russell Fain and his wife Iris, and Abi Fain; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 1 sister Eva Lee Rich of Horseshoe Bay, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, May 26, 2025 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Wewoka, OK with Rev. Willard Francis, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.

The family would like to thank Brookdale Owasso and Seasons Hospice for the compassion and care that Mrs. Gaines received while she was there.

Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
