Memorial services for former Seminole County resident Doug Burkhart are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church in Shawnee. Larry Sparks and Mark Compton will officiate.

Doug died July 30, 2021, at his home in Shawnee.

He was born July 28, 1946, in Long Beach, CA, to Bert and Melvin (Davis) Burkhart.

He attended school in Seminole and in Palmdale, CA, graduating in 1964.

He worked for Pepsi as a driver and dispatcher for 30 years. He retired and moved back to Oklahoma in 2007.

He married Debbie in 2013 in Shawnee. She survives him, of the home.

Doug was a born-again Christian who loved the Lord. He also loved his family and motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and his brother Eugene.

Other survivors include sons and daughters, Louis and Heather Burkhart of Phoenix, AZ, Carlos and Jessica Burkhart of Lancaster, CA, James and Ashley Rumbaugh of Tecumseh, Jessica and Aaron Younger of Moore, and Jennifer and Joe Dillon of Wellston; four brothers, Bert and Helen Burkhart of Edmond, Jerry and Donna Burkhart of Dale, Mike Burkhart of Seminole, and Ron and Debra Burkhart of Yukon; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
