Rammage Former Seminole resident, Dorothy “Dottie” Moore Phillips Rammage, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in Petersburg Virginia.

Dottie, the daughter of Garfield and Faye (Grubb) Moore, was born December 12, 1922, in Forney, TX. Dottie graduated from Kemp High School with the class of 1940. She then attended college at Texas Women’s College. On March 8, 1943, Dottie married Glenn Phillips, in Kemp, Texas. Dottie and Glenn enjoyed 36 years of marriage prior to his passing on March 24, 1979. Dottie was a faithful member of the Seminole First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, for 53 years. She became acquainted with Tom Rammage, a fellow member of Seminole, First Baptist Church and on September 11, 1981, they were married in Mesquite, Texas. Tom passed away on February 24, 1990. Dottie was an English teacher for many years and she was an avid reader. She also enjoyed to plant flowers and maintain her beautiful lawn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Glenn Phillips and Tom Rammage; son, David Phillips; daughter, Glenda Lane; a grandson, Isaac Dommert; and a sister, Helen Chappell.

Dottie is survived by her daughter and son-inlaw, Anita and Greg Dommert, of N Dinwiddie, Virginia; grandchildren, John and Morgan Dommert, Chris and Rachel Dommert, Gennifer and Gary Lane Briggs, and Melissa Lane and Ross Van Til; great grandchildren, Noah, Hazel, Rosemary, Samuel, Benjamin, Theodore, Wes, Mark, Mariana, Emma, Robert, and Christopher; along with many other family and friends.

Services will be Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Seminole First Baptist Church, with Matt Pollock officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
