Donnie Ray Lam, 74, Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Friday, May 21, 2021 at his home in Maud, Oklahoma. Donnie was born on November 3, 1946 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Edward Olen Lam, Jr. and Myrtle Irene (Jeffers) Lam. Donnie grew up in the Tribbey, Macomb and Wanette communities, but most of all, he loved the Maud community where he spent his final days.

Donnie was an electrician and lineman, working at Canadian Valley Electric Coop, Tinker Air Force Base and was self-employed electrician. Donnie was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma, he was an avid OU Sports fan, he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening, his cabin in the woods, he loved decorating for Christmas and playing Santa Claus.

Donnie served his country in the United States Army and was discharged as a PFC E-3. Donnie married Evelyn (Mitchell) Lam on August 29, 2003 in Mena, Arkansas.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife; Evelyn Lam of the home in Maud, Oklahoma, sons; Randy Self and Deena of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jimmy Self of Seminole, Oklahoma, Mark Goodwin and Diana of Eufaula, Oklahoma and Kenny Lam of Atoka, Oklahoma, daughters; Natalie O’Dell and Shane of Seminole, Oklahoma, Paula Fox and Jeff of Atoka, Oklahoma, Kimberly Jennings and Keith of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Doyalyne Vandivort and Tim of McLoud, Oklahoma, one brother Bill Merrick of Kansas, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Myrtle Lam, his brother Larry Lam, his sisters Linda Champlin and Sheila Rhodes.

A Celebration of Donnie’s Life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma with Rev. Butch Bradley officiating.

Cremation and Memorial services are under the care of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
