Curry It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

David Glenn Curry, born April 12, 1934, in Oilton, Oklahoma, was a proud Oklahoman whose life was a testament to hard work, entrepreneurship, and a deep love for family and community. From humble beginnings working in the oilfield, he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by establishing an ice dock in 1962 to serve construction and oilfield workers during the building of I-40. His vision and dedication transformed that humble start into a thriving enterprise that included a general store, furniture, laundromat, and car wash.

In 1974, he purchased a hardware store in Wewoka, which he grew into a successful chain with multiple locations across Oklahoma, including Okemah, Maud, Beggs, Weleetka, and Cromwell. His commitment to his business and community spanned over 50 years, reflecting his unwavering work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.

Beyond his business endeavors, David had served as the mayor of Cromwell and had a deep passion for farming and raising cattle—pursuits he cherished throughout his life. He balanced his work with a love of the land, running his hardware store and cattle business until the age of 90, inspiring everyone around him with his resilience and dedication.

David is survived by his two children, David Lee Curry of New Port Richey, Florida, and Danna Theriault and her husband Brian of North Redington Beach, Florida. He was a proud grandfather to his four grandchildren: Keerston Behles (Brent), Shalane Curry, Paxton Flatt (Spencer), and Brock Theriault, as well as seven great-grandchildren: Brynlee Harrington, Taylor Harrington, Rowan Blythe, Presley Flatt, Fallon Flatt, Quincy Flatt, and Daphne Flatt. He took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Glenn Curry; his mother, Anna Leora Robinson Curry; brothers Jack Curry, Gene Curry, Joe Curry, Pat Curry; and sister Doris Curry. His memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.

David’s life was a testament to perseverance, hard work, and love for his family and community. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Dad. You will be forever missed but never forgotten.
