Darlene Ann McMillan, Seminole resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 68. Darlene was born on July 10, 1953, in Penn Yan, New York, to Richard and Frances (Hall) Kennerson. She graduated from Penn Yan Academy. She married George U. McMillan Jr. on January 7, 1972 at Yatesville Church in Yatesville, New York. Darlene and George celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage. She worked as a manager in the bakery and deli at Homeland before retiring in 2013.

Darlene was known for her homemade spaghetti and meatball dinners and many visits were made by family and friends to enjoy her company and her cooking. Her children’s friends in high school called her mom. Darlene truly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She treasured her time sitting with George on the porch watching the hummingbirds, squirrels and birds.

Darlene is survived by her husband, George U. McMillan Jr.; son, Michael McMillan and wife, Brandy, of Seminole; daughter, Heather Suldovsky of Seminole; brother, Richard Kennerson and wife, Kelly of Grand Island, New York; sister, Linda Ingram and husband, Rick, of Penn Yan, New York; sister-in-law, Seylon Kennerson of Penn Yan, New York; four grandchildren, Tristan Minter, Ashlynn McMillan, Michael McMillan and Blakely McMillan; a host of nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends, many friends that are just like family.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Frances Kennerson; daughter, Melody McMillan; brother, Roger Kennerson; father-in-law, George McMillan and mother-in-law, Eleanor McMillan.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Pastor Mickey Shaw officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
