Dale McGirt, McLoud resident, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at McLoud Nursing Home, at the age of 74. Dale was born on January 5, 1947, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Cecil Rae and Lucille (Curley) Wolf McGirt. He was raised in Maud and became a longtime resident of McLoud until his death. Dale was a 1965 graduate of Maud High School. He graduated from the Spartan School of Aeronautics. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2008 after a 27 year career as a jet engine mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base.

Dale married Wynona Wakolee and had three children. He married his second wife, Melody Rebekah Champion who preceded him in death on July 23, 2002.

Dale is survived by his two sons, Solon Rae McGirt of Seminole and Ricky Lee McGirt of McLoud; daughter, Dana Dale McGirt of McLoud; two step children; three brothers, Robert Lee McGirt, Lindsey Bondoni and Jimmy Hughes; two sisters, Sharon Faye McGirt and Linda Kay McGirt; and ten grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Wynona Wakolee; second wife, Melody Rebekah; brothers, George McGirt, Dean McGirt who was his twin brother and Cecil Rae Harjo.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Harjo Family Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
