Chrisman “Chrissie” Theodore McGeisey II, loving son, father, husband and brother, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2021 in his Fort Worth, Texas home. Chrisman was born on September 22, 1978, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Chrisman Theodore Sr. and Arlene (Reina) McGeisey.

A special note from Chrissie’s mother:

Chrisman was known as “Chrissie” by his family in California, a nickname given to him by his maternal grandfather, Papa Joe, who referred to him as “his Chrissie.”

Chrissie was also known as my “flu baby.” One day, I was feeling very ill with flu-type symptoms, so I decided to go to the doctor to be tested. My doctor ran a blood test and discovered my symptoms were not caused by the flu, but that I was pregnant. I stood in the knee-deep snow waiting to be picked up, crying, and telling his father that I was having a flu baby.

Chrissie, you will always be my baby boy and the sunshine of my heart, and I love you very much.

Chrisman is survived by his wife, Shawna A. (Bynum) McGeisey; daughter, Isabella R. McGeisey; son, Mekko A. McGeisey; stepson, Kaleb D. Hente; mother, Arlene Reina; paternal grandmother, Jane McGeisey; brother, Dallas E. McGeisey, sisters, Genevieve C. McGeisey and Erica N. McGeisey; nephews, Ryan C. Jones, Matthew F. Jones, Brenndan D. McGeisey-Welch, Briton C. M. Welch and Justice L.E. Welch; niece, Gabrielle S. Jones; brother in law, John J. Welch; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles and many other family and friends.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Indian Nations Baptist Church with Boyd Cummings officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
