Charles Richard Pierce, Shawnee resident, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at the age of 92. He was born on January 10, 1933 in Seminole, OK to William Edgar and Lillie Ellen (Teague) Pierce. He grew up and spent most of his life in the Wolf and Maud areas. He graduated from Wolf High School. Charles married Margaret Gordon on January 23, 1953 in Morenci, Arizona. He met his wife while working in the copper mines in Morenci, Arizona. They married and spent over 72 years together. Charles always enjoyed working his land and raising cattle during most of his life. He enjoyed gardening and history. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.
Charles is survived by the love of his life, Margaret Pierce of the home; son and daughter-in-law Cleve R. and Jennifer L. Pierce of Shawnee, OK; daughter and son-inlaw Pam R. and Ken J. Knight of Maud, OK; four grandchildren Charles M. McAnally, Nicholas C. Knight, Grayson R. Pierce and Ashley R. Turner and many other family and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his father William E. Pierce Sr.; mother Lillie E. Pierce; brother William E. Pierce Jr. and sister Mildred Reinschmidt.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, OK with Bro. Mike Craig and Bro. Butch Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, OK. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
