Funeral services for Carmen Renee McGirt will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Carson Cemetery. Wake services will be Thursday, 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel.

Carmen Renee McGirt was born August 17, 1977 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Brent Smith and Wisey McGirt. She passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at her home in Seminole at the age of 44. Carmen attended

Carmen attended Okemah Public Schools before graduating in 1995 from Butner High School. She later attended Eastern Oklahoma State College where she excelled in basketball. Carmen later received her associated degree from Southeastern University. Carmen loved watching Duke Basketball, fishing, floating the river and, more than anything else, spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Ruthanne Rex.

Survivors include her life partner, Lindsey Buck of the home; her mother, Wisey McGirt of Okemah; her dad, Thomas Givens of Arizona; two daughters, Mazie and Cali Cruce of the home; six brothers, Jarett Givens of Okemah, Jon Givens of Okemah, Clayton Smith of Henryetta, Brent Smith Jr. of Weleetka, Thomas Givens of Mesa, Arizona and Daniel Givens of Tacoma, Washington; three sisters, Raquel Smith of Muskogee, Laura Givens of Tacoma, Washington and Berne Givens of Tacoma, Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and so many friends.

Active pallbearers will be Greg McGirt, Brian McGirt, Tristan Smith, Andy Wheeler, Claud Stephens and Wvncee Smith.

Honorary bearers include Culley Lowe, Devan Shirley, Jeff Brown, Basil Underwood and Frankie Buck. Services will be under the
