Bonnie Lou Schlueter of Bowlegs passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at the age of 90.

Bonnie, the daughter of Andrew and Florence (Turrentine) Duncan, was born December 9, 1930 in Earlsboro.

On December 23, 1951, Bonnie married Hoyle Schlueter at Liberty Hill in Seminole County.

They enjoyed 67 years of marriage prior to his passing May 4, 2019.

Bonnie spent her entire life in and around Seminole, growing up in the Mountain View area, before moving into Seminole and ultimately Bowlegs, where she has lived for the past 25 years.

She was in the food service business, having worked in the cafeteria at Varnum School and at The Pit Stop. Bonnie was a wonderful cook, she enjoyed camping and fishing, as well as gardening, but she loved nothing as much as she loved being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and each of her 12 siblings and their spouses.

Bonnie is survived by her sons, Ricky Schlueter of Bowlegs and Mark Schlueter and wife Tricia of McAlester; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many other friends and family.

Pallbearers will be Bonnie’s grandsons and great grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Northcott, Buddy Taylor, Clyde Gibson, and Kyle Moore.

Honoring Bonnie’s wish, the casket will be closed; however, if you would like to pay your respects, Bonnie will in her casket and in a visitation room Tuesday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and there will be a book to sign.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 11:00 AM, at the Thrace Cemetery in Bowlegs.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
