Billy Joe Spain Sr. “Tuffy” was born on September 23rd, 1951 in Claremore, Oklahoma to the Late Reverend Joe and Viola Spain. Bill was baptized at High Springs Indian Baptist Church by Reverend Billy Palmer.

Billy graduated from Wewoka High School then soon after joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local #584 out of Tulsa where he retired as a journeyman - wireman in 2012.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents Reverend Joe and Viola Spain and one brother Barney Lee Spain.

He is survived by his wife, of 37 years, Cynthia Spain of the home, two brothers Wayne Shaw of Konawa, and Emman (Shot) Spain of Vamoosa, three sons Billy Joe Spain Jr. of Ponca City, Fred Lowe Jr. of Holdenville, Michael Lee Spain of Purcell, three daughters Lucretia Rivers of Holdenville, Shannon Spain of Ardmore, and Tonya Spain of Tulsa.

Flower Girls - granddaughters; Savannah Spain, Cari Spain, Autumn Bruner, Chelsea Spain and Jaslynn Harjo.

Visitation will be at his residence at 7 Willow Pond in Wewoka Oklahoma. He will remain instate until 10:00 AM Tuesday July 20, 2021, then he will be taken to High Springs Indian Baptist Church for funeral services.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday July 20, 2021 at High Springs Indian Baptist Church in Konawa with Reverend Bill “Skip” Foster officiating.

Burial will follow at McCosar Family Cemetery in Holdenville.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka, Oklahoma.
