Betty Buchanan

Betty Marie Buchanan, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away on September 3, 2021 at the age of 85.

She was born August 4, 1936 in Maud (Wolf), Oklahoma to Walter Andrew Ashby and Eva Lenora (Johnson) Ashby.

She attended Wolf School and later attended Bowlegs School where she graduated.

She married B.W. “Buck” Buchanan on June 5, 1954 at the First Presbyterian Church in Seminole. She spent most of her life in Seminole County.

Betty worked as a bookkeeper for Dacus Insurance Agency in Seminole and was Account Executive, Public Relations and Assistant Manager at KSLE Radio Station.

Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her daughters, Jan Newman and Karen Anderson, two grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Private family services were held for Betty on Saturday, September 11 at
6:30 p.m. at Wolf Cemetery in Seminole County, Oklahoma.

The family does not wish to receive flowers, but a donation to your favorite charity in Betty’s memory is welcomed.
