“Life is But A Stopping Place”

Arnold Gene Kemp passed away on September 25, 2021, at the age of 72.

He was born February 15, 1949, in Wewoka, Oklahoma to William and Herlena Kemp.

He received his education from Douglas School System and later attended Okmulgee Tech.

As a young child, he accepted Christ and then reunited with the Lord in August of 2016.

In 1965, he united with Alzetta Doolittle with whom he shared four children, Denardo Kemp, Arnell Kemp, Charles Kemp and Veronica Kemp.

He united with Robin Tiger in August of 2000 in which their first date was at a football game. From here they never parted. He raised Mekko and Levi Tiger as his own along with granddaughters, Alexandria Marshall and Jaelynn Alexander. Gene worked at Big

Gene worked at Big Yank, Central Plastics and Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center.

He loved sports and a nice pair of shoes. He would always say “you can tell a person by their shoes”. He took much pride in his appearance and no matter where he went, he was always clean cut.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, William, Herlena and Clyde Spencer, siblings; Robert Jr. Kemp, William Kemp, Louis Kemp, Clide T. Bruner and Vernice James and children, Denardo Kemp, Arnell Kemp and Christopher Kemp.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Charles Greg Kemp, Veronica M. Gay (Kemp), Stacy Bates and Vincent Brown, sisters; Pauline Davis, Wanda Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

A Memorial Service honoring Gene will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 8, 2021, at Sallateeska Baptist Church, 45703 Garrett’s Lake Road, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804. Rev. Jr. Pratt and Rev. Don Aker will officiate the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
