Allen Lee Wood, Seminole resident, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 in Seminole, Oklahoma, at the age of 85. Allen was born on March 26, 1937 in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma to Jesse Lee Wood and Freda Belle (Southard) Wood. He spent most of his life in the Stratford and Seminole areas. He was a dedicated Free Will Baptist pastor and treasured his ministry of serving the Lord and caring for his congregations.

Allen married Betty Cosby on January 7, 1956 in Stratford, Oklahoma. He enjoyed watching sports, especially OU and OKC Thunder. He even listened to Seminole Chieftain football games on the radio. One of his favorite things was to watch and feed the birds. He loved spending time with family and friends and church family.

Allen is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty (Cosby) Wood of the home; two sons, Gary Wood and wife, Linda of Ada, Oklahoma and Greg Wood of Seminole, Oklahoma; brother, Larry Wood of Stratford, Oklahoma; two sisters, Judy McCurley of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Jane Magar of Stratford, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Matthew Wood, Jeremy Wood, Britni Gallina, Courtni Wood and Jesse Wood; ten great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pat Wood; brothers-in-law, Donald Cosby, Roger Cosby, Frank Cosby and wife, Barbara and Kevin Cosby and many other family and friends. Allen was preceded in death by his parents.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Matt Wood, Jeremy Wood, Jesse Wood, Dreken Gallina, Ryland Green, Rob Gallina and Gunner Gallina.

Honorary casket bearers will be David Wood, Larry Wood, Roger Cosby, Britni Gallina, Taylor Allison, Chelsea Green, Bob Bookout, Courtni Wood, Linda Wood and Terri Merritt.

Viewing will be Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Lewis Perry officiating. Burial will follow at McGee Cemetery in Stratford, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
