Alfred Wewoka Thompson was born January 11, 1947 to Homer and Castella Thompson in Wewoka, OK.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church in Wewoka, OK. He went home to be with the Lord July 20. 2021 surrounded by loved ones in Houston, TX.

Following graduation from Wewoka High School in 1965, Alfred attended Langston University, Langston, OK. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology in 1970. He began a career with Houston Independent School District, in Houston, Texas. He rose to Assistant Superintendent of Schools and retired after 38 years of service.

During 1973-1975, he served his country in Korea, having been drafted into the United States Army.

Alfred loved serving the Lord, traveling the world, and shopping. While in Houston, TX, he united with the Windsor Village United Methodist Church, serving for over 39 years as a member of the Usher Board and the Male Chorus.

Preceding him in death are parents Homer, Sr. and Castella Thompson; sisters Ameitha Jones, Valrie Street, and LaDosca Jean Madkins; and brother Homer Thompson, Jr.

Survivors include sister Willie Mae Jones, Des Moines, WA, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Interment will be at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka, OK.
