Police Chief Kenneth Higdon reminding parents wanting dogs for their children that some better than average canines are available at the city pound among unclaimed occupants… Those wanting the animals should contact the poundmaster at police station… Rudolph Black remarking that late gardeners and stockmen welcome the recent rains…

Seminole city mayor and council informally agreed Thursday evening to authorize a Municipal Hospital – Clinic Trust which could eventually develop a modern clinic and enlarged laboratory facilities for Seminole Municipal Hospital.

Mayor Waldo Lilly called the joint meeting because of a growing concern about lack of “growth,” and potential reduced operating funds for the hospital. Lack of medical doctors in the community has been cited by the hospital trustees in the last two annual reports to the city council as cause of low hospital patient loads during a substantial portion of the year.

A freshman student at Yale university, New Haven, Connecticut, is Anthony Allen, spring graduate of Seminole high school. The university student reached the east via jet flight from Oklahoma City on Sunday, September 12.

The youth received a Yale scholarship based on his outstanding scholastic record and accomplishments at Seminole high school. His traveling companion aboard the airlines jet was David Black, a Yale junior from Seminole.

The Seminole junior varsity Braves will play Holdenville’s “B” team in the Braves’ first home game of the season at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Chieftain Stadium.

Coach of the Braves is Jim Glasco. The Braves have a season record to date of 1-0, a 14-6 victory over Cushing.
