Three persons received minor injuries in a farm tractor – car collision at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday two miles north of Maud on State Highway 59 at the Little River bridge.
Highway Patrol Trooper Sam Laffoon of Seminole said drivers of the vehicles were Archie Hill, 79, of Maud, who was driving the car, and George Nuckolls, 17, of Route 1, Maud, who was driving the farm tractor.
The injured, according to the trooper, were Hill and two passengers in his car – Jessie Cowan, 73, and Ida Jones, 71, both of Marietta. All three received minor back injuries the Trooper said.
Trooper Laffoon said that both vehicles were traveling south with the tractor in the lead. A white light was shining from the back of the tractor and the Trooper said that Hill thought the light was oncoming traffic. Hill ran into the rear of the tractor.
Investigation is still pending, Trooper Laffoon said.

With the coaching staff stressing conditioning – offense – defense and the weather stressing the heat the Seminole Football Chieftains continue two-a-day workouts this week in preparation for Saturday night’s scrimmage against Chandler.
Wringing wet with perspiration after the rugged afternoon session Wednesday, Coach Jim Webb cited the players for their work and spirit even though both practices Wednesday were tough and the heat torrid.
“There was no loafing at all on the hitting today,” Webb said Wednesday. “The boys went real hard both on offense and defense.”
“We were a little sluggish still mentally on some of our plays, but overall the boys are catching on real fast and we should have our major defense and offense down smooth by Saturday,” the Seminole mentor added.
