Yahola Announces Candidacy as Seminole Nation Assistant Chief
Thomas Yahola has announced his candidacy for Seminole Nation of Oklahoma Assistant Chief in the upcoming election.
Yahola has served two terms as the Nurcup Harjo Band Representative. He was elected in the 2009 general election and again in 2017.
He ran uncontested in 2009 and finishing in the top percentage of the six candidates for a second term in 2017.
Yahola has served on Boards, Committees and as a Delegate for the Seminole Nation: Code of Laws Task Force, Roads Committee, Judgement Fund Board, Constitution Revision Committee, Delegate on the National Congress of American Indians and a Delegate on the 12.5 million Trust Fund Settlement litigation.
Yahola is a resident of Konawa and has worked in construction for over 20 years. He has been married to Evette Yahola for 25 years.
“I would be most honored to continue to serve the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. Mvto to all the people who have supported and encouraged me to pursue this position. I will always look for possibilities and opportunities to progress the Nation. The decisions we make now will be what we leave the next generation. Let us look ahead with that in mind,” Yahola said.
