Women on Mission Hold Meeting
Submitted by Karissa Tucker
Women On Mission met on Thursday, February 9 at the First Baptist Church Parlor. Ginger Ryan read the ones who had birthday this day.
In a Peanuts comic strip, Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Lucy are playing baseball. Suddenly it starts to rain. Lucy yells “Hey Manger!”
Charlie Brown replies, “Now what?”
In the next frame, Snoopy is on top of Lucy’s head hiding under her baseball cap. Lucy declares, “I think your dog is afraid of thunder.”
When you are afraid where do you run for protection? Psalm 91:4 presents a beautiful image of God as a bird protecting its young under its wings.
When believers in Christ are afraid, we can find refuge and comfort under God’s care. In times of trouble, God promises He will rescue us, protect us, answer us, be with us, deliver us, and honor us (vs.14-15). When you are afraid, claim these powerful promises from God.
The ladies present were Ruby Bevelhymer, Ginger Ryan, Kathy Smith, Maria Benton, Joy Smith, Linda Evans, Karissa Tucker. Ginger Ryan served Strawberry Bundt Cake and Strawberry Punch.
Our next Meeting is Feb.23rd at 1pm at the Wewoka First Baptist Church Parlor.
