Women on a Mission
Women on Mission met 5-13-21 at Brooke Brumley’s home. Patti Prater read the missionaries that had birthdays today and read 2 Corinthians 8:1-7.
We focused on 2 Corinthians 8:2. I doubt the church at Macedonia had any idea how much their generosity would impact the churches of their day.
I daresay they would be surprised that it continues to motivate churches and individuals centuries later.
In spite of their own difficulties, they begged for the privilege to help fellow believers going through hard times.
They gave from benevolent hearts overflowing with joy even though they needed those funds for their needs.
First offering their lives to God, they then gave their finances to others.
Their attitude and actions challenge us to go beyond easy offerings that cost little.
With eyes, hearts & hands open, they urge us today to see people suffering around us, regard them with genuine love and compassion, and give whatever it takes to relieve their suffering.
Is that easy? Not at first. Yet, but when you give sacrificially, God grants you unexpected intangible rewards.
The more you give, the more you will want to give, it is a win-win situation for everyone.
Brooke Brumely read us a lesson on Whatever you do do it for Glory of God the scripture Colossians 3:17 it says and whatever you do, whether in word or deed do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus , giving thanks to God the Father through him.
